A Culture of Safety

It's not enough to simply put procedures in place to protect employees. Unless such actions are followed-up with the sense that such policies are going to be enforce, have value and are completely supported by management, the programs won't reach their potential.

A Culture of Safety

There is a lot more to creating a culture of safety than simply implementing the right policies and procedures. It's about creating a mindset that above all else, safety is paramount.

This starts from the top. Managers must put emphasis on safety above even profit. Keeping their people safe and secure is the key to the success of the company and that the company cares about their employees.

The reality is that this translates into profits. First, the reduced incidence of injury on the job reduces workers compensation claims, lawsuits and employee downtime. Second, it can reduce insurance rates as improved practices translates to better safety and reduced risk. Third, it enhances morale and productivity. And fourth, it reduces catastrophic failures and large downtimes as well as potential negative publicity.

The creatiion of a culture of safety is to take a series of actions that help to instill the mindset that safety comes first and that the well-being of the company stems from the well-being of its employees.

Let us work with you to analyze your current circumstance and to take actions that will help to instill a culture of safety within your organization!
